Your privacy is important to us.
FilamentVault was designed with a simple philosophy:
Your workshop data belongs to you.
This Privacy Policy explains what information FilamentVault uses, where your information is stored, how optional Apple services are used, and how your information is protected.
FilamentVault does not require you to create a FilamentVault account.
We do not require registration with the developer.
We do not collect personal profile information.
We do not collect payment information through the FilamentVault application.
We do not operate a FilamentVault server that receives or stores your workshop inventory.
FilamentVault uses information that you choose to enter into the application to provide its workshop-management features.
Information you choose to create or maintain in FilamentVault may include:
This information is used to provide FilamentVault’s inventory, history, identification, organization, and workshop-management features.
FilamentVault is designed as a local-first application.
The application uses Apple’s native data-storage technologies to maintain information on your device.
Core application functionality is designed to remain available without requiring a separate FilamentVault account or developer-operated cloud service.
Some workshop information may also synchronize through your Apple iCloud account as described below.
FilamentVault supports synchronization of eligible workshop information between your Apple devices using Apple iCloud and CloudKit.
When iCloud synchronization is available, eligible FilamentVault data is stored in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account.
FilamentVault does not operate its own cloud database for this synchronized information.
Eligible synchronized information may include:
Certain application resources and device-specific information remain local and are not intended to synchronize through CloudKit. These may include:
Availability of iCloud synchronization depends on your Apple Account, iCloud availability, device settings, network connectivity, and Apple’s services.
FilamentVault does not require a separate FilamentVault username or password for iCloud synchronization.
FilamentVault does not receive or store your Apple Account password.
Authentication and access to iCloud are managed by Apple and the operating system.
FilamentVault uses Apple’s platform services to determine whether the application can access its designated CloudKit container.
FilamentVault requests camera access only when you choose to use features that require the camera, such as scanning QR codes.
The camera is not used without your permission.
QR scanning is used to identify FilamentVault records and support application workflows.
FilamentVault does not upload camera images to a developer-operated server.
If you choose to use NFC features, FilamentVault uses supported NFC capabilities of your device to read or write filament identifiers.
NFC information is used to identify FilamentVault records and support application workflows.
FilamentVault does not transmit NFC identifiers to a developer-operated server.
Information associated with an identified spool may synchronize through iCloud as described in the iCloud and CloudKit section of this policy.
FilamentVault includes features that allow you to create backups or export workshop information.
Backup and export files are created only when you request them.
Once a file has been exported from FilamentVault, its storage and protection depend on where you choose to save, copy, or share it.
You are responsible for protecting exported files and any copies stored outside the application.
iCloud synchronization and a FilamentVault backup are separate features. Synchronization should not be considered a substitute for maintaining an independent backup of important workshop information.
FilamentVault does not sell your information.
FilamentVault does not rent your information to third parties.
FilamentVault does not provide your workshop information to advertisers.
FilamentVault does not use your workshop information for advertising or marketing profiling.
Data synchronized using CloudKit is processed through Apple’s iCloud infrastructure subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Version 1.0 of FilamentVault does not transmit application-usage analytics or workshop analytics to the developer.
Inventory analytics, workshop statistics, and recommendations generated by FilamentVault are based on information available to the application.
FilamentVault does not transmit those workshop statistics to a developer-operated analytics service.
FilamentVault relies on Apple platform technologies for features such as:
Use of Apple services is subject to Apple’s applicable terms, policies, account settings, and service availability.
FilamentVault does not require a developer-operated online account or server for normal workshop management.
If future versions introduce additional online or third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
You can create, modify, and delete workshop information using FilamentVault.
Because eligible workshop information may synchronize through iCloud, deleting the application from one device should not be assumed to delete synchronized information from iCloud or from your other devices.
Similarly, reinstalling FilamentVault may allow eligible synchronized information to become available again when the application is connected to the same Apple Account and CloudKit data remains available.
FilamentVault provides data-management features for managing and backing up application data. Procedures for completely removing local and synchronized FilamentVault data are described in the supporting documentation.
We recommend creating an independent backup before performing destructive data-management operations.
FilamentVault uses Apple’s native platform technologies for application storage and iCloud synchronization.
CloudKit synchronization uses Apple’s infrastructure and the private database associated with your Apple Account.
FilamentVault does not receive your Apple Account password and does not operate its own authentication system for iCloud synchronization.
While reasonable efforts are made to protect application data, no software, device, network, or cloud service can guarantee absolute security.
Users are encouraged to protect their devices and Apple Accounts and maintain backups of important workshop information.
FilamentVault is intended for general audiences.
FilamentVault does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account, analytics system, or server.
This Privacy Policy may be updated as FilamentVault evolves.
Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date or Last Updated date at the top of this document.
The current version of this Privacy Policy will be made available through the FilamentVault support site.
